The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, is required for any student who wants to apply for 1. federal grants, 2. federally subsidized student loans, 3. the federal work study program.
Not only is the FAFSA required for students seeking federal aid, most colleges will also require that students fill out the FAFSA to be eligible for ANY scholarships provided by the college.
In short, all SSHS seniors should plan on completing the FAFSA. Click on the image at the top of this page to go to the Federal FAFSA Website.
Prepare for the FAFSA by creating an FSA ID, your electronic signature for the FAFSA form. The student and one parent will need an FSA ID. Check out this handy explainer for help.
Lucky for SSHS students, we have our own in-house FAFSA expert. If you need help with your FAFSA, please contact Ms. Regan in the counseling office or by emailing her at aregan@ssummit.org.
