South Summit Elementary students got a treat this morning. Paige Mitchell from the Summit County Health Department came to do breakfast and yoga. Some people may not know that our lunch ladies are also breakfast ladies. We offer breakfast and lunch to students every day. Celebrating School Social Work Week! Shoutout to the incredible school social workers who bring their expertise and unique educational background to our schools. They help create a positive and inclusive environment for students. Their presence contributes to the holistic development and well-being of students and strengthens the overall effectiveness of our school community. We're so happy to have Detective Stewart join the South Summit family. He spends his days getting to know the students at each school. At first some of the kids were a little concerned as to why there was a "policeman" at the school all the time. SSHS student Dayton is known as Dayton Fry the Science Guy to the fourth graders at South Summit Elementary School. That's because he has been sharing his love of science with them for the past month. Dayton is South Summit High School's Sterling Scholar representative in the Science category. He's always loved science and even made it to the state level science fair in 6th grade. Science can seem a little intimidating for some kids and Dayton wanted to show them how fun it can be. The Giving Tree is up and ready at South Summit Elementary School if you who would like to come and collect an ornament for families in need. Please return the items unwrapped with their ornament taped to the item by December 13th to the front office. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!

A 4th grader at SSES was lucky enough to get the number one Christmas Tree permit this year! Student Shane Williams snagged the very first Christmas Tree permit in the entire country from U.S. Forest Service Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.
