Parents: Today's the last day to watch Dr. Kane's presentation about cyberbullying and digital detox.
You would be shocked if you knew what the #1 bullying statement is that's circulating on social media right now. Do you want to find out? You can learn that and more including many of the impacts of screen time and social media on teens and young people. Watch Dr. Christy Kane's presentation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-meAPM0szU&t=544s Did you realize that teens spend up to 12.6 hours a day on screens? And that can lead to: increased violence and risk-taking behaviors, substance abuse, negative stereotyping. It can also cause: sleep issues, lower grades, weight and mood problems. Parents can help prevent these issues with preventative steps. Dr. Kane is a coveted advisor in the area of mental health and has over 20 years of experience leading the Mental Health Clinic. She focuses her work on neurology, mental health stability, and how electronics are affecting the human brain. She spoke at SSHS a few weeks ago, and unfortunately had a small turnout. If you missed it, you missed out. Watch her presentation here on YouTube and learn steps you can take to prevent mental health crises. It's only available until Nov. 21st. Don't miss it this time! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-meAPM0szU&t=544s
