K12 Computer Science Grant
South Summit School District has been very fortunate to receive grant money to implement Computer Science at every grade-level. The District Computer Science committee has been hyper vigilant in providing resources and support for the Elementary teachers in an effort that these teachers would not be overwhelmed with the new Computer Science Standards but understand how Computer Science can be integrated into existing curriculum.
Grant funds have been spent to provide:
Robots for each grade level (K-6) at South Summit Elementary
3D Printers for each grade level (K-8) at South Summit Elementary & South Summit Middle School
A two-year Skill Struck Launch Pad License for every teacher (K-5) at South Summit Elementary & South Summit Middle School
Skill Struck licenses for Silver Summit Elementary and South Summit Middle School’s Coding Class
Live Professional Development from Skill Struck
iPad charging stations, power strips and extension cords for SSMS 7th/8th grade classrooms
Robots for SSHS Computer Science classes
Robots and 3D printers for Silver Summit Elementary
3D Printers, software and supplies for Silver Summit Academy
Desktop computer lab for South Summit Elementary School
Laptops for Silver Summit Academy
Digital Whiteboards for South Summit Elementary School
" Hour of Code" Week
